The curious pumpkin named Pumpkin Pete lived in a small patch on a farm. One day, he noticed the other pumpkins being picked and taken away. Pumpkin Pete wondered where they were going. He decided to follow them and see.
Pumpkin Pete rolled off the patch and onto the road. He followed the truck that was carrying the other pumpkins. The truck took them to a busy town. Pumpkin Pete watched as the pumpkins were unloaded and placed in front of a big building. People started coming and picking the pumpkins, carving them, and taking them home.
Pumpkin Pete was amazed by all the activity. He wanted to join in the fun. As people walked by, he tried to get their attention by waving his stem. But no one noticed the little pumpkin. Suddenly, a young girl saw Pumpkin Pete and picked him up. She was so excited to have found a pumpkin that she took him home right away.
At the girl's house, Pumpkin Pete was placed on the porch with the other carved pumpkins. That night, the girl's family lit a candle inside him, and Pumpkin Pete glowed brightly. He had become a jack-o'-lantern, just like the other pumpkins. Pumpkin Pete was happy to have found his own adventure and a new home for Halloween.
