The impact that Learn to Be has had on the students I have tutored is genuinely inspiring. I remember one particular child on the verge of being held back in third grade. He was struggling not only with his academics but also with his confidence. After working closely with him, helping him with English Language Arts, and finding engaging ways to connect with the material, such as storytelling and interactive games, he showed significant improvement. It was an incredible moment when he passed third grade! Seeing his face light up with joy made me realize how much of a difference I could make in a child's life. It was a rewarding experience that filled me with pride, knowing I'd played a part in his academic success. On a personal level, my journey with Learn to Be has been transformative. Working with these fantastic kids has helped me unlock my potential unexpectedly. I started this journey feeling uncertain about my career path, unsure of where my passions indeed lay. However, I discovered my calling by interacting with the students and witnessing their growth. I realized my heart lies in supporting needy children and advocating for their well-being. This realization has not just been a passing thought but a deep-seated commitment. I am now driven to pursue a career as a school social worker, where I can continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children. The experiences I've gained through tutoring have shaped my aspirations and enriched my understanding of kids' challenges. It's a path I'm excited to follow, fueled by the hope of helping more children thrive. My experience with Learn to Be tutoring has equipped me with the essential skills to thrive as a social worker. One of the most important lessons I have learned is the significance of empathy. Being able to truly put myself in someone else's shoes and understand their emotions is crucial for building trust and rapport, whether I am working with students or clients.
