Free Summer Tutoring At Learn To Be

Did you know that when students return from summer vacation, teachers can spend months reteaching materials from the previous school year that students have forgotten? Get a Summer Study Buddy with Learn to Be to get ahead this summer!

Students & Tutors participating in LTB’s Summer Study Buddies must complete 20+ hours of 1-on-1 tutoring between June 1, 2024 - August 31, 2024 to be eligible for a certificate and other rewards!

How it works

New Students

If you are new to Learn To Be and wish to participate in Summer Study Buddies, simply click the link below to fill out the student enrollment form. Once accepted, you will need to sign in and complete your profile so that a tutor can connect with you.

Current Students

Speak with your tutor about continuing tutoring over the summer and reaching the 20 hour goal. If your tutor is available, continue tutoring and you both will automatically be enrolled!
If you do not currently have a tutor, sign in to your existing account, update your profile, and we'll add you to our student queue so a tutor will pick you up!

If you are new to Learn To Be and wish to participate in Summer Study Buddies, simply click the link below to complete the tutor application. Your application will be reviewed within 1 business day and if accepted, you can connect with a student and start tutoring the subject of your choosing!

Current Tutors

Speak with your student about continuing tutoring over the summer and reaching the 20 hour goal. If your student would like summer tutoring, continue working together and you both will automatically be enrolled! If you do not currently have a student, sign in and click on the "Find a Student" button in the menu on the left to pick up a new student this summer.

Are there rewards or prizes for participating?

Yes! Aside from all the free tutoring they need over the summer, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Summer Study Buddies '24 T-shirt! Tutors will receive a Letter of Recommendation, Certificate of Completion (for community service hours if needed), and a Summer Study Buddies '24 T-shirt!

What do I do once I’ve reached 20 hours of tutoring?

Keep going! We will pull a record of everyone who has completed the program at the end of the summer. We will reach out to you by the 2nd week of September if you've completed the program to let you know how the award will be distributed. You do not need to submit any final forms.

How do I track my hours?

Students and tutors must submit a 1-min feedback form after each session in order to record their activity. Feedback forms can be found in the “Past Sessions” section of the student and tutor portal.

Do I need to apply specifically to be a part of Summer Study Buddies?

No! You just need to work with your student/tutor for 20 hours over the dates of June 1 - August 31, 2024 to qualify. Make sure to complete your post-session survey to receive credit for your sessions!
