Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Elijah is the youngest of 3 boys. He moved in with us a year ago. He is is a hard worker who is struggling in the area of math. We are looking for someone who can help him understand math concepts so he can graduate with his peers. He likes to play football, bowling, and video games. I work with him on his homework, but with 4 children, it is difficult to find the time to retroactively work on the earlier gaps.
Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
Elijah has in IEP for SLD (specific learning disability). In helping with Math, I've noticed there are severe gaps. I am uncertain he can pass an elementary math assessment. This makes completing high school algebra very difficult. We need to start of the beginning and work our way up. This means number lines, fractions, decimals, order of operations, etc
