Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Erica is a sweet, hardworking girl who always struggled with math ever since she was a child in the Philippines. However, her grades were good until she came into senior high school. She has little to no confidence when it comes to math and we think she experiences test anxiety which is one of the reasons why her grades are plummeting. She used to cry a lot because she could not understand math and every time she gets her tests back, she would be disappointed. We’ve tried to be very understanding and supportive but it is difficult for us to see her like this. She works hard, harder than I’ve ever seen her work hard before, which leads her to being devastated when she sees her mark not reflecting her efforts.
What are your greatest hopes for your student?
To complete all of her dreams and to build more confidence in her abilities.
What are you most grateful for?
That my daughter works hard and never gives up. I can’t help her so she is the only one that can help herself and so I’m grateful that she is strong enough to handle this.
Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
Rational equations, word problem solving, trigonometry, absolute value and reciprocal functions, systems of equations, linear and quadratic inequalities, sequences and series,.
According to the student, how can we make the world a better place?
It is in every individual’s heart and mind whether or not we can make the world a better place. We must bring these individuals together to solve the same issues a group of people may have.

Between Shades of Gray (historical fiction)
What does the student want to 'learn to be' when they grow up?
