Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Danika is an 11 year old girl who loves life. She sees life as an open door. She finds strength to deal with her frustrations through art and music. She finds ways to deal with her sadness through the love and eyes of animals. Danika has one of the biggest hearts I know. Her ability to care for another person is beyond her years. She is an only child. She always begs for another sibling but in this stage of life it’s just not doable. Her father signed over rights when she was born which has never been to much of an issue until this past year due to him trying to send her cards. He has never sent any before. This year has been a little bit rough for her due to that but we manage well. We spend all our free time together. We are both very open with each other and are able to talk about anything. With school, she can lose focus very easily if she doesn’t understand something. She has recently started feeling like she isn’t smart and has been very hard on herself. Im not sure where she is getting this due to the fact I have always encouraged her that she can move mountains. Math has really brought her self esteem down since last year.
What are your greatest hopes for your student?
Gain more confidence in her math skills. Not give up as soon as she is frustrated. Understand how to communicate her questions as she tends to not be able to find the words since she doesn’t understand something.
What are you most grateful for?
My daughter. This life would not be a life without her. She has brought more joy and love than I ever could’ve imagined was possible.
