Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Ashton is a 15 year old a male that lives his mother, father and 11year old sister in Southfield MI. Ashton is an 9th grader at Southfield Arts and Technology High School. Ashton is a part of the C2 Pipeline after school program that help focus on STEM activities and academic enrichment. Ashton has expressed an interest in computer engineering and or computer technology. Ashton enjoys technology and seems to enjoy classes related to technology. Ashton also is has ADD and has an 504 Plan that supports him with accommodations as needed such as extended time on quizzes and assignments. Ashton has received tutoring since about 4th grade through community resources and private tutors in math and reading - which I found to be very helpful as he gets the 1:1 support for materials related to be broken down as at times Ashton will not ask questions in class for understanding. This program will be very supportive to Ashton and myself as he has benefited from additional support to ensure he is staying accountable for his work and ensuring his understanding of reading materials and improve his comprehension. This program will fit our life style and provide the support Ashton needs. I will ensure that I as the parent will continue to support Ashton and make sure we stay committed to the program.
